Everest Book Two: The Climb

Everest Book Two: The Climb is an awesome book. Everest is mostly about four kids, Dominic, Tilt, Sammi, and Perry who try to climb the biggest mountain in the world. They travel to Nepal and begin their training. The altitude is high and Dominic can't take it. Dominic gets HAPE, which means it is hard to breathe. When they get to camp, Tilt spreads news about Dominic to reporters. Cap Cicero, the leader, doesn't know that Tilt was spreading the news. During Dominic's recovery , the team starts up the mountain.
When Dominic recovered , he was helping the sherpa's. The sherpas carry and lift bags for the climbers. Dominic was the youngest , but he was by far the strongest. When Dominic started up the mountain, he could feel the altitude changing. The weather is very harsh, it can get to minus sixty-six degrees. The suns rays are so strong, they had to wear sunscreen. When they reached camp four, Cap Cicero was listening to the radio to see if any teams had made it to the top. He heard a weird noise, it was Ethan Zaph's sherpa, Lansang. Ethan Zaph is the youngest person to ever reach the summit. Lansang said that Nestor, the journalist, was unconscious, but Ethan wanted to continue his climb. Ethan's team was trying to climb Everest without oxygen masks.
Many climbers make poor decisions when they don't have enough oxygen in their brains.
That meant, Dominic, Sammi, Tilt and Perry would have to save Ethan and Nestor.Once they found them, Ethan was in the death zone with no oxygen. They strapped oxygen masks on and headed down. Perry noticed Nestor didn't have any crampons on his feet. Crampons are razor sharp shoes that climbers wear to have more traction. They realized that they were stuck in his back. When they pulled the crampons out, he screamed.
When they arrived at camp four, Cap Cicero and Dr. Oberman were waiting in the tent. Dr. Oberman took Nestor down to camp two and eventually back to the city to recover.
At the end, Nestor is okay. Tilt confesses that he was spreading the news and everybody is okay.
If you like suspense, action, drama and adventure, then you will like the Everest series. After I read the first book, I was looking forward to reading Book Two:The Climb. I really liked Everest Book Two:The Climb. It is action packed, drama filled and one of the most intense books I have ever read.

A Solitary Blue is a book about a boy named Jeff and has a mother named Melody, who left him and his father, the Professor, when he was in second grade. It had been seven years, then one summer Melody had invited him to spend the summer with her in South Carolina. So Jeff went to see his mother. Jeff met so much of his family, he loved the wilderness there, and he loved spending time with his long lost mother! When he goes back the second time every thing is going wrong. His mother is not as nice as she was before and is never home any more, his grandmother is to old to talk to him and she is grumpy, and most of all he finds out that his mother never wanted him any more! When he gets back his father decided to move and never go back to his mother! Will things get better for Jeff or will they get worst? Read the book to find out!!

I would recommend this book to kids that love drama, action, suspense, and wilderness. If you like these things than this book is for you!

This is a really good book. There are four main charactors in this book, Kaz, Dante, Andria, and Star. They are four kids that like scuba diving and start doing some research on marine life. When they were diving one day, the find a shipwreck and a note that said: Telodo. They find out that it was the fifth atlantic crossing. So they went back up to land found out that there is 1.2 billion dollars worth of treasure on that shipwreck. The wreck was in a place called the hidden shoals. Then they find out that there are six people after the treasure. So they send a water proof camera to get a better look at the shipwreck. Then they find another person to help them named captain Vanhoover find the treasure, and he let them use a extreemly nice sumbarine. They go down in the ship and do you think they find the treasure. I won't tell you just read the book and find out.

I highly recomend this book. It is great for fifth graders. this book has a lot of action and suspense. you should read this book because it has a good amount of pages and has a lot of everything. The auther is Gordan Korman

Pish Posh

The book Pish Posh is about a girl named Clara and her parents own a restaurant called Pish Posh. Clara never gets along with any children and all she wears is a plain black dress and black sunglasses. One day she finds this girl named Annabelle. Clara finds out that Annabelle is a bugalar. Clara asked Annabelle to steale something for her. She wants her to steal an envolope that a doctor who was just killed has in his old office, because this girl named Audrey who works at Pish Posh has records from the office and Clara needs to find them because Audrey has so medical condition but no one will believe her because she looks just fine. When Annabelle gets out of the building that she stole the records from she runs into some trouble when the security guard comes and finds her stealing it. But then when a big crowd suddenly appears out of no where and the security guard can't find them through the crowd they escape. They get the form to Audrey and she gets all better but then she out of no where she dissapers. But they know that she has gone somewhere good.

I recomend this book for girls in the forth, fifth, or sixth grade. It is a great book full of adventure and suspense.

My book was called The Wanderer. This book is just right for you if you like adventure and a whole lot of suspense!This book is about a young girl named Sophie who goes on a very exciting adventure with her cousins Cody and Brian. She also goes on this journey with her uncles. At first Sophies mother didn't want her to go on the adventure. As soon as her uncles and cousins came to get her and the boats ready her mom had no choice but to let her go with them! On this adventure their destination is Ireland. They are gonig to Ireland from Connecticut. They are going to Ireland to see their grandfather Bompie. They are going to see Bompie for two reasons, the first reason is that he is very sick and he has a nurse living at his house with him. The second reason is, they haven't seen him in a long time and they wanted to catch up with him and see how he is doing. Although there are some bumps along the road while they are traveling to get there. They are traveling just fine until there are storm clouds up ahead. They would turn around but, then the storm would be pushing them with it and they would never stop going. They decide to go straight through the storm and luckily they made it out safely. After the storm they took a rest and docked at a small town nearby. The people there are very nice. All of a sudden no one can find Sophie and Cody? Where could they be? They found a small boat and traveled to an island that their grandfather Bompie met his first wife at. Cody did not know that the island is where their grandfather had met his first wife Rose. They stayed there for only a day and when they came back they headed off to continue their journey. They were about three fourths away from their destination.Two days after they started their journey they were there in Ireland they were so excited to be there. That night they had to stay in an inn until their grandfather was well enough for them to be able to see him. The next day they headed to Bompie's house and when they approached him the nurse said to be very calm and quiet because he is very confused and doesn't know who they are, who he is , why they are there, and who they are. But, when they started to tell him one thing about each of them and a couple of things about his own life then he started to understand them. They were very happy to see him as his old self again! Sadly the nurse said that they had to leave and he needed some rest because it ws very overwhelming for him to see all five people at once. Even though there were ups and downs in this book it was definetly a good book!

I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense, drama , and especially adventure! You can find it here in our local Woodbrook library! The author of this book is Sharon Creech. If you like this book you would also look for, Walk Two Moons, and Chasing Redbird! I hope you will enjoy this book as much as i did!

Catherine is a teenage girl who has a little brother named David. David has autism. Sometimes Catherine gets annoyed with David because he does stupid stuff in public. One of those things that he will do in public is pull his pants down if they get the tiniest bit wet. Catherine creates a set of rules for David so he does not embarrass himself or others. There is a family that is moving in next to Catherine and David and the family has a girl about Catherine's age. Catherine really wants to make freinds with this girl. There is only one peroblem...David. One day, Catherine's mom asked her to go next door to invite their family to a cookout that tonight.Catherine is not so confident about the idea because she does not want David to do something stupid in front of their new neighbors.Luckily for Catherine, they could not come. You have to read the book to find out how the story ends.

I recomend this book because it is fun, interesting, and it teaches us about autism. It also teaches us that just because someone has a disability, that does not mean that they are not still a human just like me and you.

Roy Gardener, Machine Gun Kelly,and Al Capone. If you haven't guessed yet, Moose lives on Alcatraz Island off the coast of San Francisco. How he got on this island is because of his father who is a electrician on the island. When he comes to the island, all of the kids on Alcatraz are impressed with a girl named Piper, who comes up with a lot of schemes. Moose has a sister named Natalie who has a disability. Moose's parents want him to watch his sister while his dad works and his mom teaches piano lessons. His sister got suspended from her school and Moose has to help with her until she is able to go to school again. Moose would rather play baseball than watch his sister.

The Swiss Family Robinson

The Swiss Family Robinson is about a family- Elizabeth (the mom), a dad, and 4 sons Fritz 15, Jack 13, Ernest 11, and Francis 8- and their crew, are sailing along the sea in hope to find a new island by New Guinea. Then a big wave came, and the crew had to get into inflatable boats and get sail in those. They forgot to take the Robinson family with them, so the family was stranded there. The family found some barrels, to make a boat, 2 dogs (named Turk and Flora), a cow, 2 goats, a mule, 6 sheep, a pig, some hems, roosters, pigeons, geese, and ducks! Land was not far away from the broken boat, so the family made life jackets for the animals. On land, the Robinsons built a house in a tree and a barn for their animals. There was a storm coming, so the Robinsons had to build a tent on the ground as their new home. The next day, Fritz went exploring and found a monkey, a coconut tree, and European fruits. Fritz, Dad, Turk and Flora, went out hunting and found buffalo. They killed a mother buffalo, and took her baby and they kept and tamed it. The Robinsons had to make a home in a cave, because of another storm. They decided to celebrate the 3 years the have been there, so the threw a party. Days later, the family ran into a python, and had to stay in their house. because they shot at it, but it didn't die. The snake rapped it self around the donkey, and then swallowed him whole. Fritz went out and shot the snake. A couple days later, they all were out hunting, when Ernest came screaming back, because there were 2 bears. The guys got their guns, then shot them both dead. They family made coats, gloves, beds and food out of them. Ten years had past, since they first got on the island. Fritz had came back from searching, and had pearls and a note that said someone else was trapped on the island. They found the lost person on the island, and her name was Emily. An English ship arrives, and they offered to take the family home with Emily and the crew. The family loved their new home, do the go? To find out, you must read The Swiss Family Robinson.

I LOVED this book, because it was really fascinating, the family had to move their home a couple times, they found animals they haven't seen before. It was a really good book! For example when the snake wraps itself around the donkey, you would think the donkey would stay alive, well you would be wrong! This book was really good!

Alex Rider a 14 year old, just found something Scorpia. Scorpia is a terrorist organization that kills people. Alex doesn't know who they are until he meets up with Yassen Gregorovich. Yassen tells them who they really are. When Alex tries to fight Scorpia he just loses all the time. So instead of fighting them he should just join Scorpia. In this book there are bad guys, schools, heros, villians, and a weird story at the end. What will happen?

I liked this book because it was cool. It was also fun to read because there were so many action/thriller parts. The book was awesome to because there was excitement on every page.

The Ear, The Eye, and The Arm

Tendai, Rita and Kuda are the kids of General Matsika, Zimbabwe's chief of security. Tendai is said to be soft by his father because he hates fighting and others' pain. Kuda is different, he loves fighting. Rita is really good with Math. Another character is the Mellower, whose real name is Anthony. His job is to settle down the General and give praises to the family. Tendai, Rita, and Kuda want to explore the city and get their badges, so the Mellower tricks their parent's by letting them go with a signed form. Their first stop is Mbare Musika, a food market. While they are there, they get kidnapped by two people called, Fist and Knife. They are the helpers of the She Elephant. They are kept as slaves for a long time, but they soon find a way to escape. They escape to a place with the trash man called, Resthaven. Meanwhile, their parents find out, and get detectives, The Ear, The Eye and The Arm, to look for them. The detectives go to the She Elephant's place, but they are not there. They continue trying to look for them. While the kids are at Resthaven, they are accepted and cannot leave. They soon, however, get accused of witchcraft, and are banned from Resthaven. Then, they go to the Mellowers mother's house where she waits to get a reward for them. The She Elephant soon goes there and steals the children to give to the Masks, a bad gang. Will the detectives find them in time?

I like this book because it is about detectives, adventures, and crimes. People who enjoy exciting adventure and detective books will like The Ear, The Eye, and The Arm.

Roy has just moved from Montana to Florida. He is on the bus. While he was looking out the window, he saw a boy. It looked like just an ordinary boy. A boy that was running to catch the bus. There were just a few things that weren't right though. When he was running, he had no backpack. He also had no shoes. And the oddest thing of all: When the boy Reached the bus, he just went right past it. Roy was very curious. He tries to Chase after him the next day. He couldn't because he was also facing a bully named Dana Matherson. Dana clamped his damp, meaty hands over Roy's throat. Roy was struggling to get air; he blindly swung his fist. Then, Roy felt his hand hit something.... Dana Matherson's nose! Apparently, Roy broke Dana's nose. At the same time, there is a crime done at the new Mother Paula's Pancake House. Roy wonders if the running boy, Dana, and the crime would all tie together somehow.

I liked this book because it was very exciting. From the cover, it seems very boring. It's actually very interesting! I liked it because there are two mysteries that are tied together. I would highly recommend this book

Meg's story is about a girl who is 13 years old she has 3 other sisters named Jo,Beth,and Amy.Meg's parents aren't the richest people around in fact they pretty much are really poor.Jo is selfish but Meg has to learn how to live with her.Beth is really caring she loves the outdoors and doesn't like it when people are sad.Amy is the shyest of them all she always wants another doll to play with; she is also the youngest of the group!Meg is my favorite not just because she has the same name as me but because i love how she holds all of her sisters together because without Meg Jo,Beth,and Amy would be fighting all the time!

Meg sometimes feels unappreciated because she feels like its always up to her to do the right thing when she thinks her sisters should amke the right decision for themselves.Jo says Meg is just over reacting but in my opinion i agree with Meg!Beth always trys to do stuff on her own but sometimes it hard because she is still very young and its hard for her to go to her mom for advice because her mom is always busy with something and her dad is always at work!Amy is the youngest and she will always need someone to look up to;and Meg does not want that person to be Jo because she just doesn't think her sister has the responsible side.So Meg has to be in charge but the part that i love about this book is they stick together like glue!!!

So go ahead and read this book i loved and so will you!

This book is part of The Clique series. The author is Lisa Harrison. This is a very good book.I probably recommend this for anyone 8 and older.

This book is about 4 girls who are BFFLs ( Massie, Kirstin , Dylan, and Alicia). When Alicia and Olivia cheat in the costume contest Massie trys to give Alicia every revenge she can think of. It went from bad to WORSE! While Massie is trying to give Alicia revenge, Alicia trys to act like she doesn't care, and she tryed to start her own Clique. When really they both care. On the other hand Claire has a new boyfriend and this problem with Alicia. Sooner or later they will become friends, but it happens in the weirds way. You'll have to read it to find out.

This fundraiser is when people donate socks to link around the town. They also donate money. Do you think this fundraiser will be a success?
The Great Sockathon is a really good book. This book is told in four different pionts of view, Sabrina's, Megan's, Connie's, and Daisy's. This book is different then most books. It's a book about sticking together, trust, and sticking to what you have begun. I really loved this book.

THE END

The End is the last book of the Series of Unfotunate Events. It is the thirteenth book in the series. This book is about three orphans named Sunny,Klaus, and Violet. After they burn down the last safe place of V.F.D. they take a boat from the pool up on the roof and make a chut from the hotel roof and the ocean. Count Olaf their ex guardin (after their mother and father die in a terrible fire caused by Count Olaf) Count Olaf also wants the orpahns fortune that their parents left behind when they died. While out at sea with the orphans and meany Count Olaf, a bad storm comes. It wrecks their boat. When the storm was over all four of them ended up on a island, but it wasnt like any other island it was a coastal shelf. A coastal shelf is where some point in time everything will end up on this island. Then a little girl came named Friday. She asked the orphans to come with her, but not Count Olaf because Count Olaf was saying, "Welcome to Olaf land! Bow down to your rightful king ME or else i will shoot you with this harpoon gun!' Friday did nothing, but walk away with the three orphans.Friday told Ishamel ( the head leader) about Count Olaf. Later on, the islanders went storm scavenging, wich means to look for useful items. When they came back to Ishamel what they found he kept saying, " you can keep it , but it might make people scared or you might rock the boat, but if it were me i would through it in the abtroueum. Later ib, another storm comes, so they go storm scavenging. Klaus, Sunny, and Violet all see a big cube of books and a foot in pain. It was Kit Snicket. Kit Snicket is pregnat right now. Count Olaf came out looking like Kit Snicket by putting on a sun dress, using seaweed, and a diving helment that has a very deadly fungus in it to look pregnat. No one was fooled because they all knew it was Count Olaf with another one of his unsuccessful shichisms. The islanders lock him up in a bird cage, but Count Olaf to Ishamel that sunny had a wisk, and Violet had a ribbon in her pocket, and Klaus had his common place notebook. Ishamel said if you want to stay with us you have to give up those belongings, but they refused. Ishamel also refused to let Kit Snicket join the islanders. Later on in the night two islanders made a promise that they would bring them cordial and food every night and morning if they helped them make a weapon for a upcoming munity. When they go to the abtroueum....... I can't tell what happens next becuase this is when it starts to get really exciting you'll just have to find out for yourself! Their is more than just going to the abtroueum, rember the fungus, Count Olad, Kit Snicket, Ishamel, and the islanders. Their is even a little true love in it!

I recomend this book 100 %. I love the series and so will you, but you will have to read the first book to get the last book and all the books before this one. Their is also a movie on it about the first three books that can give you an idea on what you might be reading. The author is so mysterious and a good writer to! I hope you read this book and the whole series too!

Lost and Found

This book is about twin brothers, Jay and Ray. They moved from Colorado to Ohio and they start going to a new school called Taft Elementary School. The first day Ray is sick so he doesn't go to school. When Jay is in class he notices that they don't say Ray's name off the attendance list. Jay figures that it's just a mix up. Then he looks at the list and there is no Ray Grayson the list. So he goes home to Ray with a plan. The plan is that they switch off being Jay. That means one guy goes to school and the other stays home. Will this plan work or blow up in their face?

I liked this book a lot. It's by one of my favorite authors Andrew Clements. It's a great story it was so much fun to read. I think everyone should read it. It was AWESOME!

There is a twelve year old kid named Danny Walker. He is talking to his mom because he did not make the Middletown travel team. Then his dad, Rich Walker comes to town. He played for the Golden State Warriors. He was an amazing basketball player till he got into a car crash that almost killed him. Rich decides to make a travel team of his own. The Middletown Warriors. Then they won their first game and they went to celebrate, but his dad gets into another car crash. He survived. Then the big day came. They face the Middletown Vikings, in the Tri-Valley championship. Can they beat the Vikings with Danny as their coach?

Travel Team is an amazing book. I would recommend this book to people who like books with amazing endings and gets you cheering all the way till the end. The author of this book is Mike Lupica.

Massie, Alica, Dylan, Kristen and Claire are becoming good friends, but one thing they have to get is uniforms.Massie was very mad about that because she loves fashion and jewelry, and picking out her own clothes.But the principal is willing to let the girls at OCD have a contest. The contest is two girls run together and make the uniform and then everyone picks the uniform they like. So Massie and Claire run together and Alica and her friend Olivia run together.But Alica and Olivia won but they cheated.If you want to know how they cheated then read Best Friends for Never.

I loved this book so much it was funny, exciting, interesting ,a little sad, but very good I would even love to read it again.
